ALL ABOUT TURLOCK STAKE YW CAMP LIAHONA
Your Next Adventure Awaits
The Turlock Stake YW meet at Camp Liahona in Strawberry, CA surrounded by mountains, streams, and a beautiful landscape. Camp Liahona is a place where young women can gather together, separate from worldly influences, feel the Spirit of the Lord, grow in unity and love, and strengthen their faith and testimonies of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
The wide range of activities and unique experiences offered at Turlock Stake YW Camp Liahona empower your young woman to try new and exciting things, connect with nature and explore the outdoors, make lasting memories and friendships with other young women, and most importantly help them connect and draw closer to Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Our special staff and incredible facilities means everyone gets the chance to grow in an uplifting and safe environment.
Each year the young women choose a Camp Theme (usually spiritual in nature) reminding them of a gospel principle of Jesus Christ. Activities, Skits, Crafts, Songs and Devotionals are centered around the theme.
THE PROGRAM AT TURLOCK STAKE YW CAMP LIAHONA
Endless Activities
Turlock Stake YW Camp Liahona provides our young women ages 11-18 with an incredible range of activities and opportunities for growth. We provide an awesome program for all our campers, no matter their interests or level of experience.
Enjoy Pure Fun
Anyone who participates in our daily Activity Rotations will come home with new knowledge and skills and a greater desire to follow and become more like our Savior Jesus Christ. Our staff make sure campers enjoy every moment and keep them busy throughout their time at our friendly Girls Summer Camp.
Days are typically started with a morning devotional, which includes a hymn, a scripture, and a prayer followed by the raising of the flag. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and other meals at camp are always fabulous. We love all our Cookies (cooks)! There are lots of scheduled activities through out the day. Including Rock Climbing, Rappelling, Zip Lining, Ropes Course, Archery, Recreation Activities, Volleyball, Service Activities, Crafts, Hikes, Quiet Moments in Nature, and so much more! With so much beauty in nature, many love the quiet group time for scripture study, meditation, and journaling in their group lead nature walks around streams, in meadows and in the mountains.
Daily Campfire Devotionals and Skit Nights are lead by our Youth Camp Leaders and we love and appreciate the leadership and contributions they make in help preparing for and at camp. One of our most important responsibilities at camp is to keep the young women spiritually, morally, emotionally, and physically safe while they are away from their families. We make sure each age group of young women are always supervised by at least two adult leaders. Larger group activities may require additional adult leaders. Young women are always required to be in groups, never off alone. We have wonderful staff and nurses at camp in case of any type of emergency or need.
Experience Total Fun
Like everything we offer at Turlock Stake YW Camp Liahona, our Activities and Hikes encourage campers to explore their comfort zone and embrace new challenges while connecting with nature in the great outdoors. Appreciating God's creations and feeling a part of his Plan while having fun together as a group is a key part of the camp experience.
